How to Stop A Bad Day In Its Tracks

    ByKatherine Wisniewski November 19, 2025October 21, 2025

We’ve all had them, a bad day when nothing seems to go our way.

I remember reading the book Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day to my first-grade class. They giggled and rolled on the floor as Alexander struggled through arguments with his siblings, gum in his hair, and a marathon day of difficulties. All the while, Alexander kept proclaiming he was moving to Australia, as if this would solve all his problems.

At the end of the book, Alexander’s mom hugged him and said, “Some days are like that.”

When Life Is More Than You Can Handle, God Gives Grace

    ByKatherine Wisniewski September 24, 2025August 26, 2025

Has anyone ever told you, “God will never give you more than you can handle?” This phrase is often used to express encouragement during difficulties and to comfort people grieving the loss of a loved one. But if I am…

Combatting the Fight-or-Flight Response With The Armor of God

    ByKatherine Wisniewski July 30, 2025July 30, 2025

Have you ever asked yourself, “Why do I do the things I don’t want to do? Unfortunately, for me, it had become a recurrent question. You see, I’d been a Christian for years, decades even. Yet when faced with conflict, I always had a Fight-or-Flight response. I got angry, verbally defended myself, or ran away from the situation or relationship.

    Letting Go of Control

    ByKatherine Wisniewski June 4, 2025June 15, 2025

I’ll admit it. I am a control freak. I don’t necessarily boss everyone around. Instead, I try to control every aspect of my life. I strive to know all the details and plan ahead. Then, I fret, worry, and overthink…

Bad Dreams Don’t Have To Ruin Your Day

    ByKatherine Wisniewski April 9, 2025March 13, 2025

Have you ever woken up from a bad dream that left you unable to sleep? Perhaps our bad dreams are more than our imagination. Maybe the enemy is hurling lies and insults at our subconscious mind.

    Try, Try Again

    ByKatherine Wisniewski January 1, 2025January 9, 2025

“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” This is advice we should all heed. Or should we? There was a point in my life when I thought if I just tried harder, I would stop letting God down. I knew that He forgave me when I sought forgiveness. But I was convinced that because I kept making the same mistakes again and again, I was a huge disappointment to God.

    Change is Hard But Beautiful

    ByKatherine Wisniewski November 13, 2024January 9, 2025

People say we won’t change unless the pain of remaining the same is greater than the pain of changing. But why is it people hate change so much? Change is inevitable. Circumstances, finances, homes, jobs, people, relationships, and seasons all change. “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1, NIV) However, there is one thing we can rely on that does not change: God and His love.” For I the Lord do not change.” (Malachi 3:6, ESV) “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end” (Lamentations 3:22, ESV)

How to Keep It Simple When Life Is Complicated

    ByKatherine Wisniewski September 16, 2024January 9, 2025

I used to know a guy who always talked aloud to himself, saying, “Keep It Simple, Stupid.”  I would politely giggle and chide him for putting himself down. But sometimes I wonder if perhaps he wasn’t onto something. After all,…
