    When Your Heart is Breaking

    ByKatherine Wisniewski October 11, 2024January 9, 2025

What do you do when your heart is breaking and you can’t understand? Yesterday, a close friend passed away. He’d been in a motorcycle accident and had massive internal bleeding and injuries. But despite the best efforts of the ICU doctors, and being surrounded by praying friends and family for four days, his body was too tired to fight any longer. When he passed I could barely breathe. I felt as if I had nothing left inside me.

     Life is a Roller Coaster

    ByKatherine Wisniewski October 4, 2024January 9, 2025

My grandmother always used to say, “Life is like a rollercoaster.”  Now that I am older, I can definitely see her wisdom in this simple statement. Life is awesome, Then it’s awful. And then it’s amazing again. And in between it’s an ordinary accustomed routine. So how do we find peace in the middle of all the turmoil?

    In Pursuit of Perfection

    ByKatherine Wisniewski September 30, 2024May 24, 2025

After I became a Christian I was told I was reborn spiritually. And I read this verse. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come”. (2 Corinthians 5:17, ESV) The problem was I didn’t feel like a new creation. No matter how hard I tried, I was the same old me, making the same old mistakes. So I pursued perfection and tried to please people But this was a no win situation

    Not Broken . . .  A Masterpiece

    ByKatherine Wisniewski September 27, 2024January 9, 2025

It was at this point of brokenness I began seeking God. And as I sought the Lord and dug into my bible, I realized I’d been believing a lie. Everyone is lovable. God created us in His own image and likeness. God loves us simply because we are His. In fact, God loves us so much He sent Jesus to save us even when we were still sinners. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8, ESV)

Gaining Joy and Wisdom from Children

    ByKatherine Wisniewski September 20, 2024January 9, 2025

People say, “The older you get the wiser you are.” But I believe we might actually have this backwards. What if I said, the older you get the more foolish you are?

How to Keep It Simple When Life Is Complicated

    ByKatherine Wisniewski September 16, 2024January 9, 2025

I used to know a guy who always talked aloud to himself, saying, “Keep It Simple, Stupid.”  I would politely giggle and chide him for putting himself down. But sometimes I wonder if perhaps he wasn’t onto something. After all,…

    Follow God, Not Your Heart

    ByKatherine Wisniewski September 13, 2024January 9, 2025

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?”  Jeremiah 17:9 (ESV) People often advise us to follow our hearts if we want to be happy in life. Following your heart is an idiom, meaning…

    You are Beautiful

    ByKatherine Wisniewski September 6, 2024April 27, 2025

Do you think you are beautiful? I don’t know about you, but this question actually makes me cringe. Because, no, I definitely do not think I am beautiful. And I am not alone. A Dove survey found only 2% of women aged 18-64 considered themselves beautiful and 96% wouldn’t use the word “beautiful” when describing themselves.

    Blessings In Heartache

    ByKatherine Wisniewski September 2, 2024January 9, 2025

When someone sneezes, “God Bless You” pops out of our mouth without a thought. It’s an automatic, polite habit. But what does it actually mean? And why do we say it when someone sneezes. But, here’s an even bigger question: What if I said our greatest blessings may actually come through heartache?

Parenting With Faith When You Feel Like Giving Up

    ByKatherine Wisniewski August 30, 2024April 10, 2025

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 (ESV)  Have you ever felt like giving up when parenting feels too hard? I have. I raised…
