Sometimes life is just unfair. People can be selfish, cruel, and hurt us. We go through things no one should have to endure. Yet, others appear to go through life unscathed, as if nothing bad could ever happen to them. It can make us feel frustrated and hopeless.
I saw this inspiring quote on Social Media: “Be bold enough to use your voice, brave enough to listen to your heart, and strong enough to live the life you’ve always imagined.“ Initially, I thought, “Wow, that’s good.” But the more I thought about it, the more I realized this is instructing us to put our hope in ourselves. And I thought, “Nope, that’s not where I want to put my hope. I want to put my hope in God.”
I’ll be honest, this has been a tough week. I have had another relapse of an infection I have been fighting for close to 3 months. My husband can’t hear out of one ear due to a previous illness. And the doctors just don’t seem to have answers for either one of us. Then yesterday, a close friend was in a motorcycle accident and is now fighting for his life. But despite the storms raging all around us, I still have faith that God is good, even when life feels gloomy.
